Online Learning at Home

Oh the weather outside is frightful....
but have no fear, this blog post will be delightful!

In case you haven't looked outside today I"ll fill ya in and let you know that it's a blustery winter day; snow, wind, and ice ... oh my!

I'm here to help out (at least I hope this helps out) with some things you and your family can do on these snowed in ice days.   I've compiled a list of online sites that your kiddo should be familiar with, sites with activities for the family, sites with crafts, and then a few more ideas.

You can also find most of these sites on our blog under the page "Website We Use" or on the Fremont website
****and in no way am i saying that we're having a snow day tomorrow or later this week. Keep an eye out on the district's Facebook, Twitter, Website or listen for the phone call should we have a snow day***

ONLINE learning and fun sites:

  • First, MobyMax.  An online site where your kiddo can work on math and language skills in order to learn game time. They love this in the classroom!
  • Scootpad. Another site with academic emphasis that the kids are familiar with - there is also an app.
  • FunBrain
  • ABCYa
  • BrainpopJrVideos and activities about nearly everything a K-5 student would want to know. Several videos require a username and password but the free ones are great as well
  • Storyline Online - books read aloud
  • www.speakaboos.com - also requires login information but I believe you can listen to 5 free books
SITES with activities for snow days:
EXTRA
  • word searches
  • mazes
  • color by number
  • make playdough
  • treasure hunts
  • build a fort
  • slide around inside of a laundry basket
