What's Your Favorite?

I'm working on another DonorsChoose project for this upcoming school year and I am soooo excited for it!  It's in the works though so I don't want to say too much until I know that it is going to be possible.

But what I need is some suggestions for books.  Favorite books to read to your kiddo that can be read in one sitting. Favorite books that your kiddo loves to read. Classics that you remember from way back when you were in elementary.

PLEASE (super duper please) send me an email, text, message, or a blog comment letting me know some of your favorite books. It will be hugely appreciated!

Happy Summer!

First off....I started this blog post to just check in with everyone.   But it turned into me missing the kiddos! So be warned, this is Mrs Cantrell reporting in to say how much I miss my kiddos, our kiddos!

I sooooo wish I could have just one more day with my classroom this week! I miss them.  Not that I'm not enjoying my summer, I'm actually loving it! But these kiddos became my kiddos for the past 9 months and I saw them nearly every weekday, shared in joys and sadness, worked to be silly, set and made goals, and became a family. Yes we had our rough times but wow we had some FABULOUS times!

Almost every day I think of my kiddos.  I think about the ones that I know are moving and won't be back at Fremont. I think of the kiddos that cried on that last day, the ones that begged to be in my class last year. I think of the ones that pulled on my heart strings the most and the ones that constantly made my heart smile.

Let's face it.  I miss my kiddos.

I'm also loving being at home with my own two kiddos.  Whew it's exhausting though!  These two girls keep me busy busy busy. Some days I feel it's easier in a room of 20 1st/2nd graders than with a 2yr old and almost 5yr old. :)

I definitely hope you are getting to enjoy some extra time with your kiddos this summer.  Continue to read - check out the Greene Co Library's summer reading program here.  Visit some local parks.  Eat dinner outside or find some fireflies.  I can't wait to hear all the summer time stories in August. Please be sure you come to my classroom in the fall and at any opportunity you have during the year.

Happy Summer - I'd love to hear from you...leave a comment, send an email.
